Italy beach/lake relax
Hi,in July I am doing some travelling in Europe with my boyfriend we are both 21. I am finishing up in Rome, I would like to spend around 4 nights relaxing at the end of the trip either at one of the lakes or preferably at a nice beach..I know this is vague but does anyone have any ideas of 'must visit' places in Italy?

All of Italy is "must visit", and in July you're just barely ahead of the masses that peak in August.
We had a totally relaxing week on the far (western) side of the island of Ischia. Not as overrun by daytrippers as is the island of Capri, and the far side doesn't have the ritzy resorts and spas that you find where the ferries come in.
Another time we were in Ravenna - a charming town with incredible mosaics, by evening the tour busses tend to leave and it feels "really Italian".
It is not a beach town itself, hence you don't have the razzamattazz so much, but beaches are nearby:

Here are two suggestions:
1. Noli, on the Italian Riviera. A small, romantic, medieval village with a gorgeous stone beach on the Ligurian Sea
2. Otranto, in the Puglia region. Beautiful small town with a castle in it's center with great sandy beaches on the Adriatic Sea just a few km away.
Must visits in Italy, to me, are the lessor traveled destinations.

If you finish up in Rome - do you fly out of Rome? If you do, then stay close - Santa Severa is an amazing beach only a short train trip away

Otherwise head to the island of Procida off Naples. Well off the tourist radar but just over two hours from Rome.
