Italy August 2012 is booked....now what?!

Jump to last reply

Our family of four is travelling to Italy this summer for 14 days. I have the flights already and we are flying into Rome, staying there for 4 nights, then a rental in the Chianti region for a week, then Venice for 3 nights, and home from there. I had thought about adding in CT from Rome or Lake Garda from Venice but I think for this trip we are sticking with the classics.

My kids are 11 and 14 and are pretty good travellers (like the flights, car trips, good eaters, etc.). What we need to figure out now are as follows:

Hotels for quads for Rome. Pantheon, Piazza Navona or Trastavere area.

Ideas for exciting and not pricey excursions/day trips in Tuscany (we should be near Tavarnelle Val Di Pesa),.

Hotels for quads in Venice (like the look of the B+B called 3C and the woman there is so wonderful when i have asked about rooms, dates). Castello or San Marco preferred.

Also restaurants in all locations. my son loves seafood; my daughter detests it! We need a few recs for pizza/pasta places and seafood extravaganza type places.

Kid friendly Rome sites/places.

Thank so much. The information that I get on this site has always been so helpful.
