Italy Apartment What To Bring
 

While attending il Sasso language school for 4 weeks, I will be staying in an apartment in Montepulciano. Are there any things I should consider bringing from home?

Bring a washcloth for washing your face. No joke; many hotels don't provide them either.

Sharp knives.

I agree with the washcloth.

Don't forget a hard copy of your eyeglass or contact lens prescription, if you wear them (in case you break/lose). And a list of your medications (names, strengths, doctor who prescribed and phone number). Just in case. :)

If you mean what will the apt provide you will need to check with them. Most we have stayed in provide basic condiments and items folks have left: leftover detergents, paper towels, spices, etc. If you can't live without sweet n low or fresh ground pepper, your favorite soap, hair products, toothpaste etc, bring that. Cobblestone streets are tough on the feet so make sure your footwear can hold up--no flip flops, heels, etc. Travelers recommend sandals especially if they secure the foot like with a strap around the ankle.

A small flashlight.

Slippers are very cheap, you can pick them there if you think you need them and go home with a souvenir.

Black peppercorns are sold in Italian supermarkets in a small glass jar whose cap it is a grinder. So you don't need to bring a pepper grinder.

If you are bringing phone rechargers, laptop cords, etc, make sure you can plug them safely into the walls.

I am sure I am the only one who does this, but I bring rubber gloves to do dishes etc.

Foodwise: The one thing I bring is my ground coffee for morning coffee.

Things: A power strip is nice if you have lots of items to charge. Finding a free and accessible outlet can be a challenge at times. I bring this small travel one:

For an entire month, I don't think I'd bring any extras, but just get what I needed there.

A sharp knife is great to have, but I wouldn't want to fly with one.

I always bring a small bar of soap, enough for a day or two, because there is never ever ever bar soap in any apartment I've ever rented in Italy.

I like decaf tea and bring a couple of tea bags, again just enough for a few nights.
