Italy: Advice on Agriturismos / B&B (Rome- Pompei), and Tuscany

Jump to last reply

I need your help to find agriturismos or B&Bs.
1) by telling me good websites to look after them? I am trying Tripadvisor and ViaMichelin. However, they don't specialize in those type of lodgings, so my search takes longer than I would like.
2) by telling me nice cities to stay (according to our travel plan, see below)

We (my husband, 2 kids 8 and 11 years old, and I) are arriving to Fiumicino airport in Rome on May 7th late at night (around 11 pm).
We are going to rent a car, and drive halfway to Pompei. (It would be great to stay in Pompei, but probably, we are going to be tired, so halfway beetween Rome and Pompei more or less, would be great, definitely before reaching Pomei)
We are looking for a nice B&B or agriturismo, with nice hosts and good breakfast, only to spend the night.

The next morning (May 8th), we will go on with our travel to Pompei Scavi. Stay there for the day, and then drive up to Firenze (Florence), to spend the next day there.
We would love to go to an agriturismo preferably in Tuscany, before reaching Firenze, if possible.

Next day we will go to Rome and sleep in Rome.
I know it sounds strange / crazy to drive so much, but because of the fixed costs for the rental car, it is more economic to rent the car for two consecutive days than to rent the car on separate days (it adds up 50% more), and also to rent the car than travel by train since we are 4.

Can you help us with the agriturismos or B&Bs? Either web sites or lodging, and if you could suggest us cities to stay, would be great.

Thanks for your suggestions
