Looking for a moderately priced hotel in Rome good for sightseeing for two nights in late September.

I think you would better be looking here - http://hotelscomparison.com/ - rather than on this forum.

What do you consider moderate? How many in the room?

finandcoach Aug 13th, 2010 04:12 AM

mfnyc - $ 200-$300 a night --two people to a room

Does that sound reasonable ?

nochblad -thanks for the reply...will check it out !

That shouldn't be a problem. IMO the best location is in the Navona/Pantheon/Fiori area. Years ago I stayed in Santa Chiara. Del Senato has always popular among posters here. If you do a search here on 'Rome Hotels' you'll find lots of threads with recs.

Ditto mfnyc.

200 Euro per night if a very generous "moderate".

We stayed in Piazza Navona but in an apartment for 120 euros.

Some good choices; the last 2 are the least upscale and the least expensive:

This one I did not visit personally but a poster here, Tower, who I know and whose opinions I respect speaks very highly of it:
