Italy
Hello I will be going to Italy in May, May 18th to be exact. I arrive in Rome, then off to Florence, Venice, Umbria and Amalfi coast. If anyone has any recommedations of reasonbly priced hotel rooms and good locations. Also I am huge foodie so any food and wine suggestions would be great.I would greatly appreciate any help.I will be in Italy for two weeks.

How much do you want to spend per night? You could also do a search here for each city to get some ideas. May is a very busy time in Italy. With less than two months to go, you really need to get some reservations right away. Lots of places will already be completely booked.

Sorry - but your questions are awfully general.
- What do you mean by reasonable priced? I agree w/ SusanP - many places are already booked - especially if they are "reasonably priced"

If you don't really have a clue, then start with www.venere.com .
Try www.google.it and search for hotels, there will be English translations. Back it all up with Tripadvisor, and, finally, check with the hotel itself, as it may be available and, hopefully, cheaper than the above.

I was in Italy in September. Lodging will depend on how long you'll be staying in any particular place and how many people in your party. There were 3 of us and we rented an apartment in Rome for a week and stayed in a coverted farmhouse outside Florence for a week(Barbarino de Mugello), which were both exceptionally reasonable.

I hope you read the replies and stayed up all night finding a place to stay. Last year we went at the end of May/early June and I was in sort of a panic that I didn't have my flat in Rome already booked.
Also, how many are in your party?

Rome - Hotel Sant'Angelo (http://www.hotelsa.it/en/index.htm)
Florence - Hotel Casci (http://www.hotelcasci.com/)
Orvieto in Umbria - Hotel Italia (http://www.umbriaonline.com/hotelitalia/)
I have not been to the Amalfi Coast and I would not recommend the hotel where I stayed in Venice.
