Italy-2 weeks
 

We're planning a trip to Italy in May or June, and are thinking of spending a week in San Gimignano, 3 nights in Florence, 3 nights in Rome, use train except for week at San Gimignano and suggestions are appreciated.<BR>alan

Sorry you didn't get much in the way of replies, but perhaps it's because you didn't really ask any one (spepcifc) question.<BR><BR>What catches my eye is your idea of spending an entire week at(in?) San Gimignano. I wonder if you will overdose on the daily influx of daytrippers. While I don't think that San G is TOO touristy to enjoy, I bet that few people who have been there would envision spending an entire week.<BR><BR>Or maybe you mean someplace nearby.<BR><BR>What info about that part of the trip - - or other parts - - are you seeking?<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR>

I agree with Rex. Unless you are planning on using the San Gim area as a base to see Tuscany or visit family, a week is way more than you need there.<BR><BR>Don't get me wrong, it's a cute town with lovely views...we loved it. But a nice morning walk, lunch and a few shops and photos and we were off again.<BR><BR>Carol

We spent two weeks in Italy in October and would recommend spending time in Tuscany; actually, the countryside. It is beautiful and just like the pictures you have seen. We were in the Chianti region and found it to be relaxing with wonderful day trips and great food. We used Karen Brown's guides and had great results. Good luck and enjoy!
