http://www.sleepinitaly.com/files/apt_minerva.html is a Rome apartment with a private bedroom and a sofa bed that opens up to the Pantheon. And at 140E (last year anyway) is a fraction of the price of any similarly located hotels.
Our teen loved being able to people watch from the windows or had out by herself to hang out in the plaza with all the other teenagers. Great central location (plenty of shops and restaruants) and to walk anywhere in the old city.

Hi Italy,
Do you have a specific purpose for wanting to spend 4 days in Milan?
Just curious. If you are departing from Milan, I would either add that time to Rome and Venice, spend 3 nights at one of the lakes before departure from Milan, or add 3 nights in Tuscany.
1 or 2 nights in Milan would be enough to see the highlights.
Buon viaggio!
