where did I get that $5 or should have been 5 euro - someone posted that recently as called it Tren Italo's booking fee - per order - maybe in this thread - I did not wade thru it - or on another Tren Italo thread - maybe things have just changed or that person was wrong and the $5 may have been from a credit card company for foreign transactions??? But I do not know for sure myself. But the poster sounded like they just did it.

And yes the majority of cards I believe still charge 3% - that is typical - both mine do - bourbon where is the factual basis of what you claim that c cards no longer charge that much - or as you say 'most' - just your thought or any hard facts behind that sweeping statement? Curious as then I will stop saying that but based on my cards and several friends we all are getting 3% flat fee per transaction.

But I am not sure of the facts as you seem to be so what are they? Thanks in advance for your proof so I can document that statement.

The 25% increase in price was for Italo's Club Class, and it was consistent for every train I checked.

The 40% increase was for only one train on the day I checked, as I stated in my earlier post.

This is rather amusing coming from you, Palenq.

PQ - You are confused. I imagine you confused someone's posts about the fees booking with Italiarail (a US reseller) with Italo (an entirely different company).

I see you didn't provide any proof of your fee claim for Italo or proof that all your credit cards charge 3%. A quick Google will provide a list of cards that don't charge international fees. Here's numerous lists of no foreign fee cards.

Quite a few cards have dropped these fees and they have sent their card holders emails stating so (my AmEx did). My credit union Visa and MC for years never charged the 1% that Visa and MC charge if issued through regular banks. The credit union didn't pass that on to their members (ditto for many other typical bank fees). A few years ago they did start collecting the 1%.

Yes thanks for pointing that out.
