Italian weather??

My in-laws are going to Rome, Florence, and Venice in early to mid November. What sort of weather are they liable to hit? I've only done it in summer so have no idea what fall is like. Thanks! Dick

My husband & I are going to Rome, Florence and the Amalfi coast early November also. Would be interested to hear from you about replies you get and how the trip worked out.(We are going in November 1999.) Thanks, Jan

In november the average maximum temperature in Rome is about 17 degrees C (63 degrees F). The rainfall during the month is in average about 110 mm.
In Venice the average maximum temperature in November is about 12 degrees C (about 54 degrees F) and the average rainfall in this month is about 80 mm.
There,of course, may be some variations from year to year and from day to day.
I hope you will experience pleasant weather. Can you tell me what the weather is like in January (1999?

Before I recently went to Venice and Florence I frequently checked the weather listings at web sites like
the Washington Post, the Weather Channel, USA today, the New York Times, and CNN on the web. All have extensive weather information, including average highs and lows, precip, and forecasts.
There is surprising variation in forecasts among these sites, as much as range of 10 degrees F, but it at least gave me an idea.
The information I previously found was that November was one of the rainiest months on average in Florence and Venice.
Watch out for "high water" trends in Venice, you may want boots, especially if you are going at a time of high tides.
