italian tower visit

I'm travelling to italy in september and want to visit the tower, how far from Rome is it, and is there other things to see in the neighbourhood?

Let's suppose for a second that this is a legitimate question and that you are asking about the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

I't a little over 90 minutes to train from Rome to Florence, and then maybe another hour from Florence to Pisa. More details on www.fs-on-line.com - - and driving a car will take you longer than the train.

I don't know about getting from the train station in Pisa to the Campo dei Miracoli where the Tower, the Duomo (Cathedral), the Battistera (Baptistry) and 3 or 4 other "attractions" are located. Although it has some of the hallmarks of a "tourist trap", you can enjoy a half hour there, or a half day - - they price the tickets to encourage you to see 4 or more of the attractions.

Best wishes,

Rex
Remember, however, that at last report, the Tower won't be open to visitors until November.

You take a bus from the train station to the tower

Easy walk , about a mile, from the train depot. Even if you are driving, consider staying in Lucca and taking the train, very short ride, into Pissa and see both towns. All the majors are next door to the tower. Not a lot to differentiate the others sights. There is a bonus outdoor wall mural between the station and the tower that is the most reproduced, if not famous, piece of pop art I can think of.
