Italian Riviera or Provence

I realize this is a strange question but we're flying into Milan in late May to spend 3 days at Lake Maggiore and want to spend 7 days somewhere else. We will probably fly out of Nice.

We're not interested in museums or expensive restaurants since we have a 7 year old. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Paula, Split your time between the Ligurian coast--SML,Levanto, or Portovenere---and the rest in Menton.

I agree with Bob the navigator. I just finished doing France and Italy and did both the Italian and french riviera and fell in love with the liguran coast. >Portofino, santa Maria ligure and we stayed in Lerrici. Bon voyage.

Which town should I stay in on the Ligurian coast? Any hotel suggestions?
Thanks!

Are you driving? What is your budget?

We are driving and our budget for a hotel is between $100-$200 per night.

Thank you.
