Italian Riviera Hotels?

Going to the Riviera soon, any recommendations on hotels? We're considering Hotel Laurin or Hotel Helios in Ste Margherita Ligure, and Hotel Europa or Hotel Florida in Lerici. TIA

Ciao Tim,
We've stayed at the Helios and advised friends to stay there. It's right on the water. Get a room with a sea view.
Tommaso

Hotel Laurin is nice. Be sure to request a room overlooking the harbor. They have nice views and large balconies with lounge chairs.

We stayed at the Imperial palace, which was spectacular. It was our honeymoon so it was worth the extra money. Great rooms, great service, but pricey. We had lunch at the Helios and it looked good also.

Tim, we also stayed at the Laurin (3 nights)and had one of the rooms with the big terrace facing the marina. We loved Santa Margherita Ligure & Portofino. We wanted to stay an extra day, but were unable to cancel our next reservations. Tip: go to Portofino on the earliest boat. It's nice to enjoy before all the cruise boaters & others arrive about 10-11 a.m. Portofino is a great place for a long, lazy lunch with lots of great wine & fresh seafood!
