Italian restaurant in Paris?
Hi, everyone! A few years ago my husband and I stumbled on a great Italian restaurant, and subsequently lost its card and haven't been able to remember where it was located. I am now in Paris (and will stay here for two months) and I am just craving great pasta and pizza (the pizzas at this place were just so good!). Any recommendations???

Considering the fact that there are as many Italian restaurants as French ones, I really cnnot imagine that finding a good one will be a problem. Often it is enough to just look in through the window and see what is in people's plates.

Pizza Chic, 13 rue de Mezieres, 75006 Paris, France (Luxembourg) has been recommended to us for our trip in May. It is a favorite of Patricia Wells.

Pizza Vesuvio, 1 Rue de Gozlin, 75006 Paris - we have eaten here. It is good, they have pasta besides pizza. The prices are very reasonable.

If you go to either of these places, please report back as we will be in Paris in May. Thanks!

Outstanding pasta and Italian dishes at Marco Polo on Rue de Conde.

We've been there many times through the years and always enjoy the experience. It's very popular so you probably have to reserve. They do not take on line reservations. So call or stop by and reserve.

Thank you for your suggestions! I'll certainly let you know what I thought of the ones I tried. Cheers,

My favorite Italian restaurants in Paris were converted to Japanese -- and that happened to A LOT of places.

Pizza Tina on the Avenue Bosquet.

One of the greatest Italian restaurants I ever visited is at the foot of the Bir Hakeim stop on the metro. This is around the corner of the Eiffel Tower. I've been in Paris several times (I could live there forever), and while on a visit to the Tower we happened to stop in there. The name of the restaurant is IOLANDA'S. We got to know the owner and chef, and we discovered that he came from the same neighborhood in Naples in which my wife grew up. The food is terrific and the prices are pretty reasonable.

We kept going back to Vesuvio, right across from the St-Germain métro station.

Vesuvio is a totally reputable chain. They have locations all over Paris.

Pizza Positano on Rue des Cannettes in the 6 th. great eggplant pram appetizer and wood-fired pizzas.

I second the recommendations for Del Papa and Marco Polo which are also in the 6th.

Went to Del Papa on Fauburg St. Honoré yesterday evening. My husband didn't care for his food (bruschetta followed by an extremely garlicky penne arrabiatta), but I was very happy with mine: had eggplant parmigiana and tagliolini pomodoro basilico. Would definitely go back to one of their branches.

La Mamma in Montparnasse is a good address for anybody who is already in Montparnasse. I certainly would not cross the city to go there (or to any other Italian restaurant in my price range, for that matter).

Hi, everyone! Tried another Italian last night, and so far it has been my favorite. La Locanda, in St.Germain de Pres (
Loved the ambiance, and the food was the best Italian I've had in Paris. They have reasonable prix fix menus for lunch and dinner; if you order a la carte it's of course steeper (all the prices are on their website).
