It's very boring here during the day (in Europe).

Well we've </b) got practically a foot of snow outside the door. And it's showing no signs of melting in the garden.
Most of the town seem to have taken the day off, every surface that's other than absolutely flat's being used for sledging and one fellow-citizen's just delivered us something using his X-country skis.
The flannerpooch, who seems never to have encountered snow till 5 o clock this morning, has decided it's the best thing ever and keeps on demanding to be let out to romp.
Till he realises it's cold too, then demands to be let back in again. Disrupting my productivity more than Fodors addiction.

I meant, of course:

Oh, send your cold and snow to us. We need it desperately. The ground is covered with a thin blanket of mushy snow. Not enough to ski on. The higher you go, the more snow there is, but the lower ski areas are suffering dearly.
I think winter forgot us this year.

Take all the snow you want. It is so deep here - it started snowing October 10 and has stayed since then. It has snowed over 6 feet so far and we have a long winter ahead of us still...we do not get Spring until May.
I would much rather be bored in Europe than to be -40 C for days on end.

Here in Malta it's lovely and sunny today. Its has been like that for weeks, no winter this year. The farmers are complaining though. No problem for household water cause we've been getting reverse osmosis from the sea for the past 20 years.
Malta is a great place for ppl who do'nt like the cold and the wet, and the dark.

When I took the cocker out for her walk around 1 pm, we had 2.5 inches of snow on the ground here in Maidenhead. And it was already melting. Now it's mostly slush. Very wet snow, the kind that we got in Oregon in March and was known as "Cascade cement". I made a few snowballs and stuck them in freezer. Will give them to the cocker to play with in August.
In contrast, upstate NY may have 100 inches of white stuff on the ground by the week-end. I remember those snowy winters in Syracuse, where everyone garaged their good cars for the season and drove around in their beat-up, rusted "winter rats."
