Sorry, Mischka, I've been working in Miami. Arrive NYC tomorrow. Will resume writing then.

Sorry I missed the "l" in Charlize.

GIGGLE...I accept!

DixieChick:

Before I accepted your nomination I had to do some research (clicked on your name) to see if you and I had ever "cyberfought"...smile

We have not! WHEW

On a sad note: I had NO IDEA that Wes Fowler had died. I was travelling last July and August and in pulling threads just now,I just found out...

My Prayers,

Somebody asked for penguin recipes? They actually exist and I think they are searious! I don't know who has the nerve to harm a penguin (Rex??), but here it goes:

Harm a penguin? You mean the taste would be unacceptabe if you restricted yourself to those that died of natural causes?

"searious." As in "seared penguin"?

No I meant as in "sea-animals" lol, just a typo.

SuzieC: Thank you for the unexpected nomination! I feel deeply honored to be in the company of OliveOyl and Maitaitom.

But could you imagine the three of us manning the oars in a lifeboat together? With Degas at the helm? Off the coast of Antartica?

I can only hope Rex, StCirq, and Marilyn would commandeer a motorboat in time to rescue us from one another. (Rex, of course, would inquire if we'd thought to grab a few take-out penguins for him.)

Back on land, Scarlett and Beatchick would be waiting with warm blankets and a vat of chocolat chaud, having been astutely guided to our landing site by Mr. Ben Haines and Ira. Patrick would make a witty welcoming speech. BTilke would arrange an orderly, yet pleasurable evacuation for all.

But first, Pup would lick the salt from our frozen faces while NYCFoodsnob supervised the photo shoot for her new coffee table book, "Fodorites On Ice".

m_kingdom, of course, would arrive on the scene, take one look, and harumph off in the opposite direction.

Fortunately, we will have plenty of libations.

Tom, are you sure you want a "tipsy canoe"?

Maitaitom: "Fortunately, we will have plenty of libations."

That, sir, is precisely why I fear we would soon need rescuing from one another!

If there's anything worse out on the open sea than a crew of drunken sailors, it's a crew of drunken non-sailors.

I hail from a family of boaters. I can sail and drink at the same time. Don't worry, I've got your backs.

Thanks, C_M, for making me laugh.

I would say that it is just an honor to be nominated, but clearly I cannot.
Good thread!

I want to nominate (and thank) Sue_xx_yy for best supporting poster and I second the nomination for Russ for "Best German Documentarian".

Who gets the nomination for best (moving) critic?

Doesn't Ziana get some sort of costume award, or at least some sort of "worrying about costume" award?
