It may be too late, but $99. r/t Newark-stockholm!!
http://hq.malaysiaairlines.com/mys/e...s/about_us.asp
Malaysia Airlines is holding a whopper of an air sale to celebrate its innaugural flight from New York to Stockholm. The first fifty people to book online will snag a round-trip to the land of ligonberries, streamlined chairs and really tall, really blond people, for just $99. That's not the one-way price, that's round-trip!!! The $99 fare will apply to the 10:45 pm flight from Newark to Stockholm (you arrive at 12:25 pm the following day) on Nov. 1; vacationers can return any time in the month of November. Stop reading this now and go to the Malaysia site. Remember, only the first 50 people will be able to get this price, and it's being offerred on a first-come, first-served basis. |

But I don't want to fly RT Newark/Stockholm in Nov. :) |
P.S. I got this from my Frommer's Budget Travel newsletter.

I don't either, Ira....but perhaps, someone else may..... ;) |
I'd have thought about it if the departure date isn't Nov. 1, but out of curiosity, I priced Nov. 1-Nov. 20 and you can get a ticket for a little over $200 (all included, I think).
It's an amazing price. |
Anyway, I can't confirm if the $200 includes everything because I need to register to actually attempt to book it.
|
Well, 111op.....it's a darn good price if you can get it! I may need to take a good look at this airline in a couple of years when I can get around to visiting Scandinavia.
|
Yeah. If I could leave on a Friday, I would have considered an insane weekend trip (for $200, why not?).
I guess it's good to remember that these airlines can run some special deals. Singapore Airlines, for example, flies from NYC to AMS and FRA, and occasionally there're deals on those routes as well. Maybe fewer people think of flying these airlines to go from the East Coast to Europe. |
Speaking of insane weekend trips, do you ever read the adventures of those folks on Flyertalk.com?
Those mileage runs are pretty wild. For $99, I'd consider leaving Friday and returning Sunday, spending one night in Stockholm (never been there). I've used all my vacation time for the year and that would be all I could swing. |
I don't know that forum at all -- gosh, I don't think that I need more encouragement. This forum is more than I can take in terms of wasting time. :-)
But yeah, for $99 (or $200, I guess, with taxes?) spending a day in Stockholm is perfectly reasonable, even at this time of the year. |
