Hello skg1971,

I have never visited Turkey, but I would think train travel would be youro best option. I did a web search and came up with this site for Turkish train travel. It gives info on travel within Turkey and international travel from Turkey. Perhaps this will be of help to you. Good luck.

I looked into this several months ago, and it seemed like the easiest way was to fly between Istanbul and Bucharest. I used kayak.com to research flights, which I believe were around $200. Pricy, admittingly, but imo sure beats spending hours upon hours on a bus.

I would take the ferry. Check out MV Arielle at http://tinyurl.com/3aq2nm.

The bus will probably be full of gypsies and might be stopped at both borders for a day or so while Bulgarian and Romanian customs agents search them.

The track layout makes the train option look like an ordeal.

Verify your visa situation for all three countries.
