Istanbul to Pamukkale by flight
We are planning to visit Istanbul for 4 days 3 nights and wondering if we can take a day trip to Pamukkale by flight. Any recommendations?
Can we swim in the hot springs pools in April? Thanks Moni |
Stay in Instanbul. Even though formations are interesting as are the ruins, you will waste a lot of time taking the trip and Istanbul has enough to keep you occupied.
Here some photos of Turkey including Pamukkale. https://picasaweb.google.com/Aduchamp1/WATurkey# |
You can do a day trip by flying. There is 6:45 am flight from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Denizli Cardak Airport. It is a very short flight (less than 45 mins).
Istanbul (6:45 am) ---> Denizli Cardak (around 8pm) Rent a car and drive to Pamukkale (1 hour drive) Or take a shuttle to the bus station and take one of the Pamukkale buses (25 mins). I suggest you to rent a car, because you can drive to Karahayit and surrounding area very easily. Your return flight to Istanbul will be at 6 pm. Don't miss the flight because there is only one flight to Istanbul :) |
Some tour companies can arrange it for you http://www.toursistanbul.com/pamukkale-day-trips.htm

Swimming is more likely in the hotter months June-Sept than April.

My dreams holidays Cotton Mountains it is amazing place in turkey it Pamukkale Thermal Pools - I wish I could have taken the hot water bath. Pool is like an oriental fairytale dream come true. A little expensive if you visit Cleopatra's pool
