Istanbul to Cappacodia

We will be flying into Istanbul (IST) airport and plan to catch the next day earliest flight to Cappacodia region.
Any recommendation on where to book air tickets?
Also I noticed Peagus is cheap and flies from SAW, how far is SAW from IST?

IST to SAW is 60-75 kilometers mostly in very heavy traffic depending on your route. You could be paying more than the difference in airfare to shuttle or taxi and the Havatas bus may take a very long time.

Depending on your timing, (check schedules on ido.com)
- taxi to Bakirkoy IDO pier
- IDO catamaran to Bostanci
- Taxi from Bostanci to SAW can be an interesting alternative.
if you only have a carry-on.

Book tickets directly on airline web sites for best rates. Always check for specials.

Hi there,
what ever transportation you use to get to SAW from IST, it is better not to risk and use Turkish Airlines instead to get to Nevsehir or Kayseri airports which are very close to Cappadocia. If the flight tickets are not double, i recommend you to take an early morning flight from Istanbul to Nevsehir airport.
safe flight...

On a couple of occasions I've got beteen SAW an Sultanahmet by a combination of...

- Public bus from outside SAW Arrivals to the public ferry terminals at Kadikoy. Takes 40 minutes.

- Ferry to Eminonu. 25 minutes.

- Tram from Eminomu to Sultanahmet. 10 minutes.

Nice little adventure, and a great introduction to Istanbul especially the ferry trip.

Thanks everyone for the tips.
We finally got flights from IST to kayseri in cappadocia on turkish airlines. Looks like the flights were very reasonable for a round trip.

perfect, that will be better and time saver. if your international flight company cooperates with turkish air, you can even do through check in and dont wait for luggages... wish you a good time in Cappadocia and will be happy to help if you need anything here in cappadocia region...
