Wondering if anyone from Istanbul is familiar with these restaurants:

Konyali, Topkapi Palace Museum - too much of a tourist trap?

Haci Baba, Taksim

Haci Adullah, Beyoglu

Kiyi, Tarabya

Park Fora, Kurucesme

Are still looking for a restaurant? How many days are you going to stay in Istanbul? Any how here is your answer.

Konyali is the biggest TOURISTIC RESTAURANT IN THE TOPKAPI PALACES but food are not good I may say that TOURISTIC.

Haci Baba is the best in your this list.

Haci Abdullah is OK but good

Kiyi Tarabya is good for fish BUT expensive

Park Fora is good but according the price I would say don't waste your time to go there.

We found Haci Baba exactly what we preferred -- especially the tables on the balcony upstairs overlooking the garden. Very helpful waiters who introduced us to the many help-yourself dishes. Scrumptuous food in bewildering variety. Follow the tram line down from Taksim Square a block and keep looking on your left. Two entrances, one on the main street and another off a side street. Climb the stairs. You will love it.

Haci Baba and Haci Abdullah are fine.
Kiyi is pricy but worth and Sorry Sinan but I don't agree with Park Fora.It has anice view and delicious meals.
Set and Deniz rest. at Kirecburnu are also tasty and not pricy fish restaurants.Also try Balikci Sabahattin near Armada Hotel.

Thanks for the opinions. I'm really interested in venturing outside of the Sultanhamet - not only for food but museums, mosques, etc, etc

Reading about the Bosphorus - so many "villages" to explore - I want to do so at a leisurely pace. I'm guessing you can hop on an off the ferries that bunny hop up and down the bosphorus, relatively inexpensively?

and I forgot to add, all day - so if I wanted to spend an hour or so in Bebek then go to Yenikoy for an hour then another "villlage" that's possible - I can't tell if the ferries run like buses (frequently) - there are private ferries also - as you can tell I'm a bit perplexed about ferry schedules - any advice would be appreciated.

Think of the Bosphorus ferries like buses. There's one every few minutes. Their main terminal is on the Sultanhamet side of the Galata Bridge. Very inexpensive and fun.

My wife and I went to Haci Baba last month based on the reccomendation of our tour guide. Fun, good food, comfortable, English menu, a very large, COLD, bottle of water set on the table for us. Food - good, price - quite fair, Raki - ask for ice! An excellent choice.

Is Haci Baba more a lunch place or dinner place?
