Trip Advisor reviews are 323 "good" & above - 34 "average " & 17 "poor" & "terrible". So, 51 "average" or less.

I'd be happy with those numbers if I were looking for a hotel. Caveat: I haven't filtered by date, nationality or number of posts.

It's 224 "excellent", 99 "very good"
34 "average" 6 "poor" & 11 "terrible"

The adverse reports seem to centre around overbooking & bumping, so just be adamant that you will not be bumped to lesser standard than you booked, if there is any prospect of that being tried on. Make sure you take a copy of your booking email/ reference with you.

Hi Bokhara.
TA are in the news again over bogus hotel reviews, and not being proactive enough to either weed or block them.
Anyone can post any rubbish they want on TA.

I hope the OP is enjoying Istanbul. My family loved Turkey and wouldn't mind visiting again. I've found the people that urst ion it a a destination have never been there. I had a co order who warned me about the country based on what she say on the news.

I also blame the stupid movie "Taken 2". Decided to finally watch it a couple months after our trip and found it unintentionally hilarious. From the middle Eastern dress and street scape(Istanbul is a modern city) to the idea that a character can throw a grandad out a window in Sultanahmet and nobody notices.

We loved The country it's food and people.
