Istanbul layover
 

I will have a 7 hour layover at the airport. I may miss the 3 or 6 hour tour of Istanbul, that is offered from the airport. Is there an alternative?

You haven't given your flight ETA & ETD, depending on when you arrive you could take a taxi to Sultanahment and visit some of the sites, Aya Sopya, Blue Mosque, etc, walk around the old town and maybe have a meal. I think at the most you'll get about 3 hours in town, but its still worth it.

Yes worth it but watch the times..Traffic, depending on the hour of the day can be brutal!!!

I your flight at 7pm or do you have to report at 7pm, makes a huge difference. If you land at noon you could be in the old town by 2pm, maybe even earlier, then spend a couple of hours there and head back out to the airport. But you're likel to hit rush hour traffic on the way back, so think it over.
