Isle of Wight Trains: Still Old Tube Cars?
When i rode the quaint Isle of Wight train line several years ago the rolling stock was old London Tube cars - identical looking still. I see in the recent issue of Today's Railways UK there is a picture of The Island Line between Ryde and Shanklin train cars and they indeed still seem to be old tube cars. Anyone know if the whole rolling stock is still antiquated tube cars, known for their unique look of just fitting into the London Tube tunnels, quite unlike normal train cars.

A est F: thanks - that's what i also wanted to know - Metropolitan cars from the 1930s - that's what i heard long ago and forgot the details. Yes dinkey but seemed cool to me, given that it's such a short rattling ride puntuated by that weird pumping sound at stations. Quaint - a word I know Brits don't like applied to anything British but this is truly quaint!
