ISIC need for Airfare

I'm a student and will be traveling to Italy this upcoming Nov. I have already booked my flight through sta travel on United Airlines.

Do I need an ISIC card to verify my student status to the airlines or would my e-ticket be ok?

I do not want to get the ISIC if I will not be using it as I'm going for a cruise rather then using it for discount at museums. Thanks.

Hi B,

Bring your student ID.

Enjoy your visit.

Thanks for the reply, so the airlines will only need our student ID no ISIC needed?

It's been many moons since I was eligible for student travel discounts but as I remember I needed to show my ISIC to STA to make the booking but the airline only cared about the ticket. This was back in the days of paper tickets though.

To be honest I wouldn't trust any anecdotes from here but I'd check with the airline what the restrictions are on the ticket.

thanks FYI

Airlines stated we just needed a Student ID and not a ISIC.
