Ischia vs. Rome vs.....
We have revised our itinerary for our May trip so that we have a "spare" day and night. We are trying to decide whether it would be better spent as an extra night in Rome, a second night in Ischia, a night in Capri, or an extra night on the AC. We will already have 3 nights in Rome, 4 nights on the AC and one night in Ischia.
For those of you who have been there and done that, what would your choice be? Thanks! |
Is this an independent tour or group guided tour? my personal experience 3 nights in Rome is plenty unless they are going to do something that not so "touristy" in case it is group tour.

It's just the 2 of us. And we have been in Rome briefly before but just scratched the surface that time.

Tough choice!
And whilst Ischia has been our home for almost nine years now... http://www.pbase.com/isolaverde/tele ... it's Rome that we go to whenever hit by a bout of island-fever! http://www.pbase.com/isolaverde/lazio That said, one night here really isn't sufficient to do the place justice - try these for some photos from that month over the years... http://www.pbase.com/isolaverde/mayisch ... or perhaps last May's edition of Ischia's visitor magazine: http://www.ischianews.com/images/pho...maggio_web.pdf Peter |
I would either skip Ischia and add the time to Rome (its an amazing city that I think you are cutting short) or add the night to Ischia.
I wouldnt spend all the time and effort getting to Ischia for only 1 night to turn around and head back to the mainland again... |
I agree with Jamikins.
Or: Take 1 night away from Amalfi Coast and add to Ischia. |
Thank you. This is definitely helpful advice. Also, the fact that no one has championed Capri. Wondering how terrible it would really be to visit this part of the world and skip Capri all together.
