Ischia or Capri for a day?

We will be staying in Sorrento in Sept. and I am thinking of doing a day trip to either Ischia or Capri. Which would be more enjoyable just for walking around and taking in the scenery? Thanks for your help.

Capri is much more "compact" than Ischia. So if you're walking, you'll be able to see more on Capri.

By the same token, because Capri is so compact, it seems much more crowded. Ischia is more of a lay-on-the-beach during the day...have-a few-beers-at-night type of place.

But very relaxing.
