Is this true ?
who: Mayor of La Grand-Motte, Henri Dunoyer

what: Says British tourists are smelly and sweaty

where: France

when: This week

snippet: "It's enough to make workers in restaurants, bars and shops feel sick," says the mayor, who can't abide the reek of "sweat and suntan lotion" drifting over the table at his favourite restaurant, reports The Sun.

Peter
Well, I read it from a newspaper, too.
|
Peter... are you trolling?

Henri Dunoyer was actually talking about his legislation to outlaw "beach attire" or, indeed, "beach deshabille" from the shopping areas and shops of his town.
It was not specifically aimed at Brits, indeed I understand that most visitors to La Grand-Motte are French (quelle surprise), Dutch and German.

I'm sure you're aware that The Sun will, in order to reinforce its resident readers' prejudices, put a pronounced anti-european slant on any story it can. Shame on you for lapping it up!

Apollo

It's a well known fact that EVERYTHING in The Sun is true. That's why EVERYONE (with an I.Q in single figures) reads it.

gotcha!

Hi

My interest in this is that I am a Brit who lives very close to Grande Motte.

Did the mayor say this, and was it in The Sun (not that I believe anything they publish !).

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com
