Is this "do-able" Borders back to Edinburgh

This is a very ambitious itinerary so please give me opinions.

Is it possible to leave Kelso at about 10 am and head to Alnwick (doesn't open until 11). Then stop at Bamburgh castle on the way up to Tantallon (doesn't open till 2 anyway)...then Direlton castle, returning our rental car by 6 pm? Thanks!

Sorry to disappoint you, but this just too much. You seem to have 8 hours of hire car and this schedule has about 4 hours of driving. The beauty of these places is the peace and the sense of a different world - don't rush them. I would suggest EITHER Alnwick and Banburgh OR Tantallon and Dirleton. In fact I would probably go for only one per day. Top of my Pops would be Bamburgh castle. Good luck

I love these questions. Are you asking if it's possible time-wise to do this itinerary or are you asking if in the opinion of this forum this is an approvable itinerary?
