Is there such a destination?

A coworker who just came back from Europe told me that he was in 3 countries (france, swiss and Italy). That is, he was staying in swiss but went to have lunch in france and dinner in Italy. Is there a destination like that? It sounded really interesting to me.

Never heard of a country called Swiss. Do you mean Switzerland?

Umm, duh, ever think of asking the co-worker? You think he's a liar?

Why didn't you ask your coworker about this destination? It could be he was in Switzerland because it borders both France and Italy.

BTW, your heading is quite interesting(!).

I wanted to ask him but while waiting for him to finish his talk I got a phonecall. This coworker is stationed in another city so it will be awhile til I see him again.

Shhhhh...check a map.

If this is a co-worker, don't you guys have email? Not to mention the telephone.

The reference library of a city near you may have the Thomas Cook European Timetable. Tables 366a and 586 say you can travel thus, by bus. Martigny Switzerland 0840, Le Chatelard frontier 0926 to 0935, Chamonix France 1012 to 1410, Courmayeur 1500 to 1530, Pre St Didier 1630 to 1715, Aosta italy 1805.

Ben Haines, London

Cara, I can't say I went to such a place, but in travelling in Northern Italy, it is very easy to just "nip across the border" for hot chocolate in Switzerland and the like. We stayed in Ventimiglia (20 miles from the border - as the name suggests), and from there we went iceskating in Niece one day, coffee in Montecarlo one afternoon, etc etc. I would also suggest that a map would be your best bet.

:)
South of Martigny you have an area where all three nations come together. Also Z made fun by saying there is no Swiss, but there is a Suisse and a Schweiz and a Svixzera just depends on your langage.
