Is there anyone who has vacationed in Rome?
 

Please recommend some nice areas to rent an apartment and nice restaurants. Thank you so much.

Lots of people obviously. I think if you look at past trip reports and where to stay threads you will find a lot of information. Have you gotten a guidebook yet?

Thousands of people on this board have been to Rome and there is lots of information here for you if you search.

If you want recommendations you need to have a better definition than "nice" as that does not give anyone an idea of the price range, apartment amenities, number of beds, type of food, do you want the restaurants to be near your apartment, etc. Nice can mean anything - it can mean a slice of pizza or a 5 course meal.

There are thousands of threads about Rome. Read a few of them (both trip reports and apartment search threads) to get you started.

Donna, you are going to have to do some research on your own. There is only so much we can help you with if you do not read and research what's already mentioned here.

Since you apparently don't know where to start, I recommend buying Rick Steves' guidebook to Rome. I know a lot of people gag when he's mentioned, but for a newbie, I thing his book is just the thing you need. A lot of the questions you are asking are answered there.

We very much enjoyed our stay and liked the zone near the Ara Pacis,extending towards Piazza Spagna.
I remember(but I have not the link)there is a beaytiful apartment for rent in the lungotevere in this zone.
you will certainly enjoy any place in Rome(Trastevere,Campo dei Fiori,Panteon).

I can only repeat what others have said: Buy a guidebook.

And if, as you say, you are looking for an apartment for three or four months, bear in mind that most of the rental agencies used by people here are for *short-term* rentals. Depending on when you're planning to rent the apartment, you may find that the number of apartments available for a long-term rental through the agencies most often mentioned here will be somewhat to very limited, because they will already have short-term rentals on the books.

Just for interest: Why are you contemplating three or four months in a city that you don't know the areas of?

Rome is HUGE. I don't think it's worth bothering about listing restaurants for you until you decide what part of the city you will be staying in.

I'd start with a map of the city, then a couple guidebooks, and then read all the threads already on this forum about Rome. People can be much more helpful when you ask more specific questions.
