Is there a UK version of Mapquest?

I'd like to have printed directions to get from point to point in Scotland. Is there a site for the UK similar to Mapquest?

Streetmap.co.uk and multimap.com are two that I have run used. Multimap has a driving directions feature. The postal code search feature on Streetmap is very handy for locating places.

Mappy works! Thanks so much, Travelnut.

I had tried Streetmap but without the postal code. I'll try that one also. Again, many thanks to you both. Driving on the left is enough of a challenge. Thank goodness I'll have a great navigator.

AA also has a good route planner. Here's the website:

This may sound Luddite, but don't forget a proper, detailed, old-fashioned road atlas as well (about £5 from any garage or bookstall).

Driving in the UK inevitably requires you to use your initiative to get round a problem you didn't foresee.

Relying on printouts alone just doesn't give you the range of alternative roads. And the scraps of paper hire companies hand out are rsrely worth the paper they're so poorly printed on.

Did you try www.mapquest.co.uk?

RAC have a great interactive map

Agree with Flanner, good old fashioned map book is the best.
Of course you could always fit sat nav in the car.
