Is there a Sofitel for 75-100EUR in Paris, Quads 1-7??

Good afternoon Fodorites!!

I'm taking a trip to see my girlfriend Nov 8-16, 2004 at Sojourn University in Paris, France. I have never been to Paris before, but I'm looking for a hotel with class yet has amminities like: 1) Bathroom within the room 2) english-speaking representatives 3) a/c 4) close to the action 5) modern bathroom 6) comfortable space w/ double bed 7) breakfast included

I'm open to your suggestions...fire away!

The Sofitel hotels in arrondisements 1-7 are much more expensive than 75-100 Euros.

Is A/C necessary for November? You have a much better chance of meeting your requirements if you don't need it.

..agree..In your price range (even in November) arr. 1-8, you are looking at a 2* hotel...forget the a/c (November!!)...and almost certanly no breakfast...however, you can occ find a real last minute special (or priceline)..but that can not be relied on.

I think the Sofitel brand is used for 4* hotels. Those are the only ones I know of, and none in that bracket. I agree that is a 2* hotel. A 2* hotel can have everything you require (except forget the AC, I think you must not have been thinking of the weather).

What is a comfortable space is up for debate, I'll admit, but you can't be picky at that price level, which is rather low even for a nice 2* hotel. Do not expect a large room.

Take a look at the hotels on http://www.eurocheapo.com/paris lots of choices in a variety of neighborhoods, and there are reviews too.

Breakfast is usually (but not always) priced separately from the room - you can choose to take it or go out to a cafe.

Some good websites with photos and plenty of choices in your price range are: (agree A/C is not nec. in Nov)

Or, do a search here in the forum for "budget hotel" and select 'France' in the droplist.

Just curious, jcouleur, what is the "Sojourn University"? . . .

I presumed jcouleur mean Sorbonne.
