Is there a high speed ferry from Messina to Capri?

Cruise ship is docking one day in Messina and wondering if there is a ferry to Capri? If not, we intend to go to Capri from Naples. Also, all the tours go to Taormina so I expect it will be very crowded. Is Syracuse doable in a day trip from Messina?
thanks

There is no ferry between Capri and Messina. Siracusa might doable if you truly have a full day, and if you drive yourselves. Still, it would be rushed. If you haven't been to Taormina, I'd go there. Even with the crowds, it's beautiful.

Capri is a 40 minute aliscafo (jet boat) ride from Naples. It is much too far to go from Messina to Capri.

The only way you might do it is to rent a helicopter for the day.

Thanks all. A friend told me he had heard there was one, I thought it was way to far to have a ferry that could get us there and back in a day. you all confirmed it.

I wouldn't attempt Siracusa after looking at Via Michelin just now. The direct highway (SS114) from Catania to Siracusa must be undergoing repairs so Via Michelin has you going around and approaching Siracusa from the southwest, a 4 and a half hour drive. The only high speed ferries operating out of Messina serve the Aeolian Islands, but I don't think you would have enough time to visit them.
