Is there a ferry between Trieste and Split?

My parents and I would like to take a car ferry from Trieste (or somewhere near, such as Pula) to Split. We had planned to take the ferry from Rijeka, but it only runs on Mondays and Fridays in April, and unfortunately that doesn't at all fit our tigh schedule. The Croatian tourist website says there is a Trieste-Split ferry run by SEM-Marina, but there's no mention of it on their website. Any info would be much appreciated!

We took an overnight ferry from Trieste to Zadar some years ago, a pleasant trip and quiet easy to do. We loved Trieste, a very intersting and cosmopolitan city, though, as I said that was some years ago. The drive into Trieste from Venice is beautiful and Castle Miramare was wonderful.

There is no service from Trieste to Split. SEM ran a service several years ago, but not any more. Apart from driving down the Croatian coast, the only other option in April would be a ferry from Ancona to Split (www.bli-ferry.com, www.jadrolinija.hr, www.adriatica.it).

TravelsWithStDavid, do you remember the name of the company that ran the Trieste-Zadar ferry, or do you know how to find info online for that? Thanks!

There is no ferry from Trieste to Zadar and hasn't been one for many years.

I am sorry, I do not remember the name of the ferry company that ran from Trieste to Zadar. I am not currently at my own home so have no access to my records. Sorry if I got your hopes up.
