is there a car ferry from Cobh?

I read a blurb recently that mentioned a car ferry from Cobh if you were headed for Kinsale. I'd love to avoid driving through Cork to get to Kinsale if possible. Does anyone know anything about it- I can't find web info.

Yes there is - I took it in April.

The reason it is hard to look up is, it is not called the Cobh-Kinsale ferry, it actually connects
Carrigaloe and Glenbrook, Co. Cork
The shuttle ferry takes you to the Great Island (5 min, €3 ride). Run By Cross River Ferries.

The ferry dock is about a mile or 2 outside of Cobh and 12 miles or so from Kinsale on the other side.

Thanks Debbie- With your help I found info on the Cork tourism sites that list 'Cross River Ferries' no website (the one above is cross sea ferry), but for anyone else in the future, it was listed to be 2.50 pounds for a car one way (although now with Euros I'll guess 4Euros?), between 7am and 12:15am.

oops Sorry Debbie- you did post the price of 3 euros already! Thanks again,
was that for passengers and car? Do they charge for each person as well?

that is for the car & passengers - doesn't matter 1,2,3 + people - they are more concerned with the car.

We took the ferry from Cobh to Kinsale as well. Didn't really plan on it, we got to Cobh and asked around. Very easy and fast. Just hop on and pay per car.
