Yes, Mary, I have been on the TGV also. I wouldn't call it an "experience." It is a bit naff. You have to sit in first class, however, not in steerage with the GU. I travelled from Dijon to Paris via the TGV, sitting next to a French count and his bloody wife who were living in Mexico because the servants were cheap. They told me how much they admired Richard Nixon. I had to change seats to get away from them (I had a feeling they were going to tell me Eva Braun was a personal friend) and ended up sitting next to a Kenzo model who showed me her "book." Now, that was interesting. I don't know if it has changed, but people smoked profusely. Blimey.
