Is the countryside outside London also shut down for Xmas
We will be in London Dec. 24/25/26 and have heard this whole city is shut down. Does anyone know if the countryside cities and towns like Bath/Cotswald will be happening? Or will they also be dark?

I was rightly reprimanded for suggesting that London then is shut down, or dark. It is good for taking unaccompanied walks, for children's ballet, and for theatre and shopping. Museums and galleries are open for several days in late December.
Bath is much the same. The Cotswolds offer walks, drives, and beauty, as any time. Whether you will find lunch or dinner on 25 or 26 December in either place I am not sure. Certainly, trains do not run in Bath or the Cotswolds on those two days.

DJL- This question has been asked so frequently (Have you done a text search here for London AND Christmas?) I just did a web search for- Cotswolds for Christmas- and lots came up! One site was- Elsiefromengland.com which has tours of London , Bath & Stonehenge, Cotswolds, Windsor etc. on Xmas day and Boxing Day. The London Tour touts seeing the city without traffic & I'm sure that will be the case. Check it out & enjoy your trip!
