Is Szentendre the same as San Andreas, Hungary?

When looking at my paternal genealogy/history, I found that they were from San Andreas, in the late 1800s. That town doesn’t seem to exist, by that name, but it seems like Szentendre means San/St. Andrew??
I will be in Budapest shortly and would love to explore that town, especially I’d that’s where my great grandparents lived.

Thx so much for any help…I would really appreciate it!!

Have a look at this to explain the names:

I googled "Sankt Andreas" and this is what came up (Sankt Andreas would be modern German). Hungary was part of the Austro-Hungarian (Habsburg) Empire and German was used as an administrative language after the decline of Latin. That was pretty unpopular, because Latin was considered a sort of neutral language - i.e. no-one's mother tongue, and then Vienna imposed German on the Empire as Latin was starting to lose traction in Europe. Bad move. Anyway, we know how it all worked out.

Good luck in your family research, sounds like a nice theme for a trip.
