Is Spain cheaper than Italy?

Do you think hotels and food would be more reasonable in Spain than in Florence?
I was told Spain is cheaper.
I appreciate your input!

Thank you,
Agnes

Hi

Yes another vote for Spain. You can stay at very adequate hostals for €50 a night. Taxis are cheap. Trains and buses don't cost much. Clothes are cheaper.

In general, yes, Spain is cheaper than Italy. However, you can travel in Florence fairly inexpensively if you stay away from the touristy places near the Duomo. Both countries are wonderful in their own way, but I feel the food is better in Italy.
