Is Prague in 3 days doable?

Is 3 days enough to see this beautiful city for the first time? Will be going in the fall.

I spent 3 days there last year and saw most everything I wanted to. Its easy to negotiate on foot, but the trams are fun too. Fab restaurants and concerts...enjoy - going green here!

Hi
I'm planning a family trip for this March, and have had a recommendation for a guide who perhaps will help us make the most of a short visit (3.5 days in our case).
Her name is Dana: [email protected] or [email protected]
She has been recommended here, and also by some friends of mine.

I am compiling a file on Prague; if you'd like to see it, email me at

3 days should be fine. We did the New Town in an afternoon, The Castle area and Lesser Quarter the next day, then The Jewish Quarter and the Old Town the next day. Get a good guide book and just wander. As long as you don't sit in the Old Town Square to eat or drink, you'll find the food and drink dirt cheap and very good.

Even the Old Town Square cafes are very cheap compared to their equivalents in western europe. Definitely at least have a drink in one as a mini-splurge.

Three days sounds exactly right for Prague. Even two would allow you to see much of it. Do make sure to get out to Charles Bridge one morning early before all the hordes arrive.
