Is Porta Portese worth going to?
 

I've heard that this is a great flea market<BR>but I don't know whether it's worth getting up very, very early to go to.<BR>Has anyone gone recently?<BR>What was your opinion of it?<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR>Eddie

Worth it if you like to roam fleas as we do. Skip the clothing section and concentrate on the flea stuff. The area is large, easy to get to. You don't have to get up very,very early as very early will do. Arrival at 8-8:30 is sufficient, later is still ok. Haggle in Italian of course.

We went there in March and didn't think much of it. We generally like markets and found others in Italy that were much better. Didn't end up buying anything at all(group of 4 of us, 2 of us women who were itching to spend!). A lot of it is junk. Couldn't recommend it.<BR>Kay

We also did Porta Portese last month, was itching to spend and buy some antiques and momentos from our trip, all junk and a big disappointment.
