Is Paris for us?
My boyfriend and I are considering traveling to Paris in January or February next year.
We do not speak french, also we are relatively young and do not care very much about museums and opera. If we decide to go, we must stay a week only in Paris (it's like a prize we won and we have to choose only one place in Europe)
Could you tell me what young americans could do in Paris or elsewhere in Europe?
Thanks in advance
PS: England is not a option

There are many clubs and or resturants for young people. Depending on your music tastes. I have been doing alot of research on this subject and there are tons of things to do in paris...not matter who you are you can find something for you. I know alot of latin and jazz clubs but i am sure someone can recommend something for your music tastes.

There isn't anything for young people to do in Europe. That's why all the young people have moved out. I wouldn't go if I was you. But I'm not you, I'm middle-aged, so there's lot's for me to do. Be charitable and give me the free trip. It would be wasted on you.

Please tell us what you would like to get out of your vacation and what you enjoy doing, then people on this board can better answer your question or, perhaps, suggest another European city.
How many times do you have to post this same probably-a-troll message?

Hey X-

Can you tell me more about those Latin and jazz clubs? I'll be in Paris in June and would love to check some clubs out.

Thanks.

what is a "probably-a-troll" message? I don't understand. Maybe being naive, just don't get why this thread has set someone off on a negative tangent??

Elaine,

My husband and I - both in mid-twenties - recently went to Europe. We visited about 7 cities and rank Paris as #2, second only to Barcelona (go there as a side trip if you can). Paris has great nightlife and a vibrant atmosphere.

We stayed in the Latin Quarter near the university. Lots of students there, people are always out and about through the wee hours of the night. - When you get there, ask them about the nightlife. - I'm trying to remember the area where we went out that night - recommended by one of the students - and we had a blast (we went with a group of 8 people, all under 30). You can walk around at night and find some great bars with live music and a great crowd. - Everyone was very receptive to us and several people went as far as buying us rounds of local beer, while we bought them shots of tequila (we're Mexican!)

Also, the music scene is great as far as hip-hop, jazz, etc. Therefore, record shopping is awesome. Oh, and by the way, neither of us speak French and we felt more at home there than in Barcelona (we speak Spanish fluently).
