is october/november a bad time to visit lake como

How is the weather in lake como during october and november? I have an opportunity to go then and was told it was too late in the season. I know hotels close during winter and the lake is cold and rough then. Also read that spring and fall were the best times to visit. Is october/november considered fall? Thanks and happy travels!!!

Yes, a lot of the hotels will be closed for the season. The ferry schedules are somewhat reduced. Weather probably not as nice but I am not sure the lake will be any rougher on a particular day.

May through mid October is the best season. After that things increasingly shut down and the weather gradually worsens. There is no guarantee on any specific day - except maybe the day before.

How much of a risk are you willing to take with our vacation time? How disappointed would you be if it were 45 and raining?

Big difference Oct. 15 versus Nov 15---which is it?

Thanks for all the replies. Not sure yet of the exact dates. If it is early Oct, then I may consider going. Otherwise guess I will wait for another opportunity. Hate to pass up any chance to go there though.
