The management team at The Seashell of Lisson Grove said: "Following the fire at our restaurant yesterday, we would like to express our sincere relief that no one was injured. We currently have limited access to the building so can not yet assess the level of damage. Once we have done so we will have a better idea of when we can expect to reopen but rest assured we will be working as hard as possible to be serving the best fish and chips in London again as soon as possible. In the meantime, we would like to thank our neighbours and other members of the local community who have been very supportive."

I used to go to choir rehearsals near Lisson Grove, and occasionally stopped off for an early fish supper at the Sea shell [whose name i had sadly forgotten].

so sorry that they are going though these hard times...they were the epitome of a decent fish and chip shop.
