Is Lufthansa a ood airline to Germany? What is there to do in Frankfurt for a day or two? Any recommendation for cheap hotel under $100. Thanks.

JD: Lufthansa is one of the world's best airlines. Although not "N" registered with the FAA, their record is exemplary. I travelled to Germany a few times with them and have no complaints. As far as Frankfurt, there's plenty to do. We stayed last summer at the Holiday Inn in Sachsenhausen (south Frankfurt) which is very nice and cost $92.00. About ten blocks away is the Sachsenhausen pub district which is really a great place to eat, drink and stroll. Right across the Main River is the Romer and St. Bartholomew's cathedral (take the DM 3.00 walk up into the steeple for a fantastic view!) and few blocks away is the Hauptwache (main shopping area), the Opera, main train station, etc. It is a nice city to visit. Have fun!
