Is it time to "go astronaut" in London?

Today I officially add a new phrase to the language, "go astronaut", to join the older phrase, "go commando".

The following is from Bloomberg:

What happened to the phrase "go pee?"

Love the name!!! WC 1

Dukey, I think "go astronaut" is being used as a euphemism here because your alternative would be "too personal".

To think, one used to just spend a penny.

Long before there were astronauts, there were policemen.
There is a device called a "policeman's friend". I shall say no more ;-)

Congratulations, Josser, for understanding the reference.

I googled it and it came right up -- a Schiaparelli pink site promising "over 20 million customers in UK alone" to franchisees. For 5pound you can get a hand massage and Special Offer 1pound pee only.

Rather a misleading heading since use of the loo is only £1.

But it seems bizarre that this should be seen as needed on Oxford Street, where every department store has loos. I suppose some might find it worth £1, not to spend the time to get to the 4th floor of Selfridges or wherever.

For those who need clarification for "go astronaut", this little excerpt from a BBC article today

'Love triangle' astronaut charged

Capt Nowak said she did not intend to harm her supposed rival
Lisa Nowak, the US astronaut who drove from Texas to Florida to confront a supposed love rival, has been charged with attempted kidnapping.

Capt Nowak made headlines for her drive, wearing a nappy so she would not have to stop to use the toilet.

Oh, so the phrase "go astronaut" means to wear a diaper so you don't have to pay a pound to pee. I get it.

And josser, you won't believe this but in a moment of stupor I was confusing your reference of a "policeman's friend" to those obnoxious bumps in the road called "sleeping policemen". I couldn't figure out what they had to do with this thread!

If I were her lawyer, I have the perfect defense. She could say she was "spaced out!"

I thought "Go Astronaut" was the C21 version of "Going Postal"
