is it safe to stay in the 9e/10e area in Paris?

frommer's recommends a hotel in the 9e district in Paris, Hotel Little Regina. I looked up the address in a Paris map, it's on Boulevard Strasbourg, looks like it's very close to the Gare d'Este. it looked like it's in the boundary lines of 9e and 10e. Room rate is also very good at 75 euro/nt for triple. the room also looked decent. being close to the train station, is this a safe area? is this right around the porn/peep show area of 10e? has anyone stayed in this hotel?

I looked at Boulevard Strasbourg on PagesJaunes and it seems like a lovely wide street with lots of cafes/bistros.
I stayed in Rue de L'Echiquier slightly off Blvd.Strasbourg and found the area perfectly safe and friendly.
I never knew there was porn/peep show area in tnhe 10th - Maybe rue St.Denis?
If the hotel is up near Gare D'Est you'll be quite some way from there.

The area is not among Paris' most charming, but it is not the seediest either. I have stayed not far from there and it was OK, did not feel unsafe, just not posh and polished. The location is convenient to the gare de l'Est, which is served by Metro lines 4,5,and 7 and not very far from gare du Nord. Areas near train stations tend to offer convenience moreso than top shelf quality, but even the lesser bistros in Paris whip up some great eats. Not sure where you found a 75/nt rate for triple, as their website at http://www.hlr.fr/english/rates.html lists triple at 100/nt or 90/nt for a 3 day stay. The decor looks pretty standard for a 2-3 star place, with rooms that are not overly large but sure look nice and clean in the web photos. The tone of the website is certainly customer friendly. Their "satisfied or your money back" offer is quite unusual in Paris, not well known for its customer service orientation.
