Is it safe?

This might seem like an odd question but my family wanted to check out Zerda Cafe for dinner when we head to Paris come February. It's along Rue Boulanger which is near the Metro station Strasbourg Saint Denis. I've read/heard people say that the area is ~seedy and dangerous. Do you think it would be risky to walk from the station to wherever the restaurant is? Or are we better off heading there in the daytime for lunch instead?

Thanks so much for your help!

Define "seedy"

Define "dangerous"

Even if it is seedy that doesn't mean there's a lot of crime and frankly, your ambiguous post title doesn't help much.

I would be willing to wager you'd be safer there than in the nearest big city to where you live...

Wholock, now you can say that you have read:
There is no problem at Strasbourg-Saint Denis.

The beginning of the Faubourg Saint Denis is the heart of the Kurdish neighborhood. Do Kurds disturb you?

Strasbourg-St-Denis is a bustling intersection that will be crowded until at least 20:00 hours and certainly not empty until much later. Safety in numbers, you know. The restaurant is a couple of blocks from the Metro station; take a look on Google Maps. Since it has been serving well-received North African food for well over a half-century, according to Internet reviews, you can expect to see some North Africans around, surviving just like you.

We're good with crowds - if it was quiet, that would be a little more disconcerting. Thanks a lot for the help, everybody!
