Is it possible to do a daytrip to Corsica from Sardinia?
I'll be in Sardinia in August, I was wondering if this is possible? I know a day will be not enough to see evry much, but I'd like to get a sense of Corsica for future trips. I'd like to return back to Sardinia at night.

AP - Yes, you can do a day-trip from Santa Teresa di Gallura to Bonifacio.
Saremar & Moby Lines operate this route http://www.gruppotirrenia.it/saremar...inframeset.htm http://www.moby.it/mds/mws/home.xpd Hope this helps ... Steve |
Bonifacio is a fascinating town set amidst stunning cliffs. It's certainly worth a day trip from Sardinia, but a day is not long enough to see anything else of Corsica (because of the mountainous terrain, road journeys take much longer than you'd think from glancing at a map). In August, Moby Lines have two ships on the Bonifacio crossing and Saremar runs one ship, so there are departures about every hour. The crossing gives great views and takes about one hour. Everything in Bonifacio, including a row of restaurants, is within walking distance of the ship.

Should I take the rental car over, or just explore Bonifacio on foot? Thanks for the help.

I would explore on foot. We stayed two nights in Bonafacio, and thank goodness our hotel had parking. Parking there was a nightmare. You'd have to drive off the ferry and park a mile or two away. If you walk off you can walk along the harbour and up to the city on top the cliffs.
